The Pandemic From My Perspective. An essay by Cadhla Corcoran

I am 10 years old and I am from Co Westmeath, Ireland.
When my teacher told me and my class that the school would be closing down because of the Coronavirus I was saying in my head this is going to be great I can play with my neighbours all day every day for two weeks. When all of a sudden there came the “but.”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing I wasn’t going to be able to play with anyone except my siblings and we were getting work sent home with us. What are they like I kept repeating in my head. So the next day and every day after that I would follow along with the same routine Joe Wick at nine o’clock and start work at ten o’clock. I was getting fed up of this. And I think it showed on my face because my Mom said Hey Cadhla why don’t you come over here and read “The Children’s Times.” so that exactly what I did I went over to the counter where my Mom was sitting and sat down on the stool beside her and started reading The Children’s Times. Firstly I did a word search then some of crossword. Then I saw articles that children wrote and then I was said to myself why don’t I write one so I did. Hope you liked it.
